Frogs Heels Part 3

If you are jumping in in the middle of this, see part 1 here and part 2 here.

Frog is all young boy.  We took his casts off last Thursday mid morning to let his feet air out before his Dr's apointment on Friday afternoon.  His feet were gnarly.  I mean really bad.

The Dr. decided to leave the casts off for a week to allow his feet to breath and heal up from all the cast damage.  A week later and his feet look just as bad.  They aren't tender anymore, but they still have quite a bit of healing to go before they can be casted again.  Because of this, and the progress made so far, he got a pass.

BRACES!!

The blue braces are for night time use.  They have a spring in the heel that allows the foot to flex straight but once the individual relaxes (like while asleep) it pulls the foot back to a 90° angle.

The red braces are his daytime braces.  These ones will not let his foot break a 90.  Frog picked the colors and designs and he really enjoys the abiltiy to take them off to shower, change socks, and swim.  They also fit in his shoes and under jeans so he won't have to worry about other kids at school seeing them unless he show them.  Since Frog starts middle school this year, appearance was a large concern.

Triumphant Frog!
